When you think of Cannibal Corpse, images of relentless drumming and brutal death metal riffs come to mind. But this weekend, drummer and founding member Paul Mazurkiewicz is swapping his drumsticks for a microphone, stepping into the world of stand-up comedy.
On Saturday, March 15, Mazurkiewicz will take the stage at The Commodore in Ybor City, Florida. This isn’t his first foray into comedy; it’s his third appearance at the venue. The event promises a unique blend of death metal and alternative comedy, where Mazurkiewicz shares stories from his illustrious career, inspiring improv skits from Tampa’s top comedians.
Mazurkiewicz expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s Round 3! Come on out for a fun night as I tell stories that inspire improv skits from the troupe!”
The Commodore, a 2,250 square-foot space that opened in 2023, has quickly become a hub for independent comedy in Tampa Bay. Founded by local performers, it offers shows several nights a week, featuring both local and national talent.
For fans of Cannibal Corpse and those curious to see a different side of Mazurkiewicz, this event is a must-see. Witness the fusion of death metal tales and comedic flair in a setting that’s as intimate as it is entertaining.
