Daze of June has dropped their new EP Stages of Erosion, and it’s a release that hits hard while exploring new sonic territory. The Danish metalcore quintet has always had a strong grip on melodic aggression, but this time, they’re pushing their sound in new directions.

The EP kicks off with Hospital Bed, featuring guest vocals from Tyler Tate of Hollow Front. The track blends crushing riffs with electronic elements, creating a dark, atmospheric vibe. The interplay between Benjamin Ganzhorn’s vocals and Tate’s signature sound adds an extra layer of depth, making it a powerful opener.

Secret Door slows things down, showcasing a more melodic side of the band. It builds up an emotional atmosphere where Ganzhorn’s vocals take center stage. Calling it a ballad might be a stretch for metalcore, but it leans in that direction.

Black Bones brings back the intensity with a cutting riff that slices through the mix, giving the track a sharp and relentless energy. In Time is a pure metalcore banger, loaded with down-tuned riffs, explosive drumming, and raw intensity.

The EP closes with Matriarch, the heaviest track on the record. It’s packed with breakdown after breakdown, hitting like a sledgehammer while the band goes full throttle on aggression and fury. This one is guaranteed to be a moshpit favorite in a live setting.

With Stages of Erosion, Daze of June delivers a well-balanced EP that showcases both their raw power and emotional depth. The production is tight, the songwriting is dynamic, and the band proves they can balance heaviness and melody without losing their edge. If you’re into modern metalcore that blends brutality with melancholic undertones, this is a release worth checking out.
