Crypta and Guitarist Jéssica di Falchi Part Ways Amidst New Album Preparations
In a move that has sent ripples through the metal community, Brazilian death metal outfit Crypta has officially parted ways with guitarist Jéssica di Falchi. The announcement comes as the band is deep into the creation of their third studio album, with a release anticipated later this year.
The split, described by both parties as amicable, was initiated by di Falchi and mutually agreed upon. Crypta expressed their gratitude for her contributions over the past few years, highlighting the shared experiences and adventures that marked her tenure. Di Falchi reciprocated the sentiment, thanking the band for their trust and the fans for their unwavering support, stating she would “carry this experience with me forever.”
Di Falchi joined Crypta in 2022, stepping in after the departure of founding guitarist Sonia Anubis. Her arrival coincided with a pivotal period for the band, leading up to the release of their sophomore album, Shades of Sorrow, in 2023. This record showcased the band’s evolution, blending ferocious riffs with haunting melodies, and solidified their standing in the global metal scene.
Despite this lineup change, Crypta remains steadfast in their commitment to their art. The band has assured fans that all upcoming shows and tours will proceed as planned, and the work on their third album continues unabated. While the search for a new guitarist is underway, Crypta’s core members—vocalist and bassist Fernanda Lira, drummer Luana Dametto, and guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi—are more determined than ever to deliver their signature brand of death metal.
As the band forges ahead, fans can anticipate announcements regarding di Falchi’s replacement and updates on the forthcoming album. In the meantime, Crypta’s resilience and dedication serve as a testament to their enduring spirit in the face of change.
